Most of these cancers are squamous cell carcinomas — malignant growths that begin in the flat squamous cells that form the inner lining in many parts of the head and neck. Using tobacco, which includes smoking cigarettes, cigars or pipes, chewing tobacco and using snuff, is the single largest risk factor for head and neck cancer.
There are situations when Head & Neck cancers do not manifest any early warning signs but typically they are associated with a few common symptoms.
